Brent Cox is a poet, artist, writer, and filmmaker based in Queens, New York. He received his Ph.D. from the SUNY-Buffalo Poetics Program. He is co-founder of ecopoetics workshop, a nomadic residency focused on poetics and environmental issues. ecopoetics workshop’s most recent residency was held in 2025 in Manizales, Colombia on a working coffee farm, and focused on questions of labor, geopolitics, and the international coffee trade. He is also the editor of the Topological Poetics Research Institute (TPRI), an experiment in publishing poetics. Brent’s work has most recently appeared in OEI #98-99: Aural Poetics, &&&: Triple Ampersand, Transect of Coexistence: Inquiry Into Nature, Art, and Habitat (ListLab), Applied Theater and the Sustainable Development Goals (Routledge), and PQ, and he has presented and performed at conferences and venues such as &Now: A Festival of Innovative Writing, The Electronic Literature Organization Conference, DocTalksxMoMa, Public Works Administration, and Picture Theory.
